does not fit std slot March 24, 2014

the diameter of this key is too wide to fit properly into the std gas valve cover.  I will have to return it.  too bad as the product looks great.

Had to grind down the end socket January 5, 2012
Reviewer: Scott Langerman from McGregor, UT United States
The key is well-made and sturdy.  However, I had to use a bench grinder to file down the end socket because it was too fat to fit all the way into the opening of my fireplace.  After grinding it down, it fit perfectly.  My old key, which broke, was a Taho brand, and the socket on that was much smaller.  I am not sure if my fireplace is typical, but I would suggest using a smaller socket for 1/4" keys.  I would have rated this as "excellent" if I did not have to grind it down.
